Weddings and Private Parties
Carolside is a perfect setting for the most intimate and romantic wedding or blessing and can accommodate up to 50 guests seated for an event in the house with a champagne reception in the hall afterwards. Alternatively if the weather is fine, ceremonies can take place under the Rose Arbour, by the river.
Carolside is able to host weddings/private lunches/dinners/cocktail parties or afternoon tea parties and can be hired exclusively. It offers one of the most beautiful settings in the Scottish Borders, serene, timeless and romantic and is only 1 hours drive from Edinburgh city centre. Whether you want to celebrate an anniversary or a birthday or simply host a party, Carolside is the ideal venue, an oasis of calm and peace where parties can relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings.
The House, Gardens or 18th-century bridge make a beautiful setting for wedding photographs and the backdrop of the wooded hills create its own world.
Marquees can be erected in the park accommodating up to 200 people, again using all the grounds and gardens for the guests with a champagne reception in the garden.
Film Location & Photoshoot
The house and grounds are available for exclusive use as a film location or for photoshoots.
The production of “The Buccaneers “ was partly filmed at Carolside House in 2022 for Apple T V .
There are a variety of interesting film locations within the policies including the house, the various Garden rooms, the woodland , parkland, river and 18th century bridge .
